CHAPEL HILL (AP) ó North Carolina will play a home football game on a Thursday night for the first time in school history.
The Tar Heels will hit the field on consecutive Thursday nights in October. They play host to Florida State on Oct. 22. That’s followed by a trip to defending ACC champ Virginia Tech on Oct. 29.North Carolina also is playing two FCS teams, opening with The Citadel on Sept. 5 and playing Georgia Southern on Oct. 10.
East Carolina visits on Sept. 19, a week after the Tar Heels travel to Connecticut.
For the first time since 2001, the North Carolina-Duke game won’t be the season finale. The rivals will play Nov. 7 in Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels will face N.C. State on Nov. 28.
