TULSA, Okla. ó Antonio Anderson’s driving basket at the buzzer lifted Memphis to a 55-54 victory over Tulsa Tuesday night.
Ben Uzoh hit two free throws to give Tulsa (11-6, 1-1 C-USA) its first lead with 4.5 seconds to play.
Tyreke Evans led Memphis (13-3, 3-0) with 23 points.
Kansas 87, Kansas State 71
LAWRENCE, Kan. ó Sherron Collins scored 19 of his 24 points in the second half for Kansas (12-4).
It was the 18th straight conference opening win for the Jayhawks, who have won 34 straight games at Allen Fieldhouse and 37 of 39 meetings against Kansas State.
Kansas guard Mario Little has decided to play out the season instead of applying for a medical hardship because of injuries that caused him to miss the first 12 games.
BYU 73, TCU 61
PROVO, Utah ó Lee Cummard had 22 points and seven boards to lead BYU (14-2, 2-0 Mountain West).
The Cougars led by as many as 24 points against TCU (11-6, 2-1).
UNC-Asheville 61, High Point 59
ASHEVILLE ó Reid Augst scored 20 points and hit two free throws with 23 seconds left for UNCA (8-9, 4-2). It scored its final point on a J.P. Primm free throw.
High Point’s Eugene Harris missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer as coach Eddie Biedenbach picked up his 100th Big South victory.
John Wiliams had 14 points, and all six of his baskets were dunks. Nick Barbour paced the Panthers (5-11, 1-5) with 19 points.
