Carson’s boys basketball team hung tough for a half but lost 89-50 at unbeaten league-leader Lake Norman on Friday night.
Carson (6-7, 2-5 NPC) trailed 18-15 after one quarter and 37-29 at the break. Lake Norman (11-0, 6-0) outscored the Cougars by a 28-7 margin in the third quarter and 24-14 in the fourth.
Darius Moose led Carson with 16 points, and point guard Brandon Ferrare added 12.

Carson’s girls didn’t score in the first half of a 53-21 loss at Lake Norman.
The Cougars (1-11, 0-7 NPC) were behind 11-0 after one quarter and 23-0 at the break. Lake Norman (9-3, 6-1) led 40-8 entering the fourth, and Carson played even with the Wildcats in the final period.
Jazzmin Brown led Carson with four points.
