PHILADELPHIA ó Sergei Samsonov used his speed to snap both a winning streak and losing streak.
Samsonov scored with 1:07 left in overtime and the Carolina Hurricanes snapped the Philadelphia Flyers’ six-game winning streak 3-2 Friday.
Patrick Dwyer and Tuomo Ruutu also scored for the Hurricanes, who stopped a three-game skid.
Carolina goaltender Cam Ward stopped 24 shots.
Coyotes 2, Avalanche 1
GLENDALE, Ariz. ó Mikael Tellqvist stopped 37 shots in his second consecutive start for Phoenix.
Derek Morris and Kevin Porter scored and Enver Lisin added a pair of assists for the Coyotes, who won their second straight after a six-game winless streak.
The Coyotes were without center Olli Jokinen, who strained his shoulder Wednesday in Columbus and will miss two to four weeks.
Ryan Smyth scored for the Avalanche, who lost for the fourth time in six games.

BOSTONó Blake Wheeler and David Krejci set up each other for scores 10 seconds apart in Boston’s five-goal third period, helping the Bruins pull away for their 10th win in 12 games.

ST. PAUL, Minn. ó Marc-Andre Bergeron assisted on a pair of goals early in the third period for Minnesota.

DALLAS ó Dan Boyle scored two goals, Evgeni Nabokov made 25 saves and NHL-leading San Jose won its sixth straight to improve to 19-3-1.

WASHINGTON ó Jose Theodore made 28 saves for the first shutout with Washington, and Alex Ovechkin, Tomas Fleischmann and David Steckel scored goals.
The win was the Capitals’ seventh straight at home.

BUFFALO, N.Y. ó Paul Gaustad broke a tie with his second goal, and Drew Stafford had two goals and an assist in Buffalo’s comeback victory.

ATLANTA ó Ryan Suter beat Johan Hedberg on a breakaway 1:44 into overtime to give Nashville its first win in Atlanta since December 1999.
