Highlands tournament slated for May 9-11
George Dysart is tournament chair for Highlands Sectional Tournament which is scheduled for May 9-11. The Highlands Civic Center, 600 N. Fourth St., is the playing site.
Betsy Bare and Gloria Bryant took first place in the weekly duplicate game at the Salisbury Woman’s Club last Tuesday evening.
Other winners were: Margaret and Charles Rimer, second; Judy Gealy and Carol Bachl, third; Steve Moore and Dick Brisbin, fourth.
In the Evergreen Club’s April 25 duplicate game Lucy Brown and Jane Cutrell placed first N/S and high overall. Nancy Stanback and Loyd Hill were the top E/W pair.
Other winners were: N/S ó Marie Pugh and Ruth Bowles, second; Betty Bonner and Clyde Steele, third. E/W ó Betsy Bare and Myrtle Brandon, second; Jean Hill and Loren Parkinson, third.
