On Tuesday, employees from CommunityOne Bank will give Rowan County students tools to build their financial futures by participating in the 12th annual National Teach Children to Save Day.
CommunityOne employees will make presentations at Hanford Dole, Enochville and North Rowan elementary schools.
“We think National Teach Children to Save Day is an opportunity to make a powerful, positive difference in all of our communities by investing in the future of children,” said Michael C. Miller, president and CEO.
CommunityOne will teach more than 2,900 elementary, middle and high school students in Alamance, Alexander, Ashe, Catawba, Chatham, Gaston, Guilford, Iredell, Montgomery, Moore, Orange, Randolph, Richmond, Rowan, Scotland, Watauga and Wilkes counties.
Seventy-four bank volunteers will visit 34 public, private and home schools.
Lessons include creating a budget, saving for an emergency and making money grow with interest. Students will be able to practice these concepts through games and other activities.
