Bobby Ray HartsellCONCORD ó Bobby Ray Hartsell, 65, of Concord, died Jan. 16, 2008, at his home.
Born July 10, 1942, in Cabarrus County, he was a son of the late Hubert Marshall and Zelma Beaver Hartsell. He graduated from Winecoff High School in 1960 and worked for Winn-Dixie, becoming manager of the produce department. In 1964, he joined the U.S. Air Force and trained as a weatherman. From 1968 until 1998, he was employed by United Parcel Service in Charlotte.
He was a member of the Tributes Quartet at First Wesleyan Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Lynn Hartsell, in 1968. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Miller Hartsell; daughters Kelly Coggins of Concord and Lee Ann Seabolt of Kannapolis; a stepdaughter, Malea Williams of Matthews; a stepson, Bryan Stover of Hendersonville; brothers Terry Hartsell of Richfield and David Hartsell; sister Mildred Flinchum of Concord; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Jan. 19, 2208, at First Wesleyan Church, Kannapolis, the Rev. Wayne Preusz and the Rev. John Perry officiating. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.
