‘Frank’ Hamby
Franklin D. “Frank” Hamby, 74, 201 Horne St., Kannapolis, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at CMC-NorthEast, Concord.
Born Feb. 2, 1933, in Jefferson, he was a son of the late William Rudy and Mary Ann Spears Hamby. He was retired after being self-employed owner of Frank Hamby Floor Covering. A member of Sharon Baptist Church, Concord, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include daughters Delinda Hamby and Samantha Hamby, both of Kannapolis, and Janet Cline, Concord; sisters Opal Haynes and Ora Spears, both of Concord, and Jessie Wineberger, Maryland; and two grandchildren.A service was held Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. James Strickland and the Rev. Leon Smith. Burial was at Carolina Memorial Park.
