George Furr Jr.
CONCORD ó George Washington Furr Jr., 64, of 2303 Kannapolis Hwy., died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
Mr. Furr was born May 25, 1943, in Cabarrus County, the son of the late George W. and Amanda Elizabeth Hawkins Furr. He retired as the operations manager of Century Contractors in Matthews.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Dunn Furr; sons Danny Furr of Mount Pleasant and Joey Furr of Oak Island; daughters Jackie Furr Robinson, Susan Furr Helms of Concord and Mandy Furr Daniels of Kannapolis; brothers Ray Furr, Gary Furr, and Buddy Furr of Concord, Robert Furr of Harrisburg and Jeff Furr of Georgia; sisters Wanda Lewis of Mount Pleasant, Judy Gray of Concord and Ruby Linker of Concord, and Jeanette Furr of Norfolk, Va.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, Jan. 19 at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, Concord, the Rev. Everette Cox officiating. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.
