Caleb Shore and Rudy Brown each hit three-run homers in the first inning for South Rowan’s American Legion baseball team, which beat Wilkes County 16-4 in seven innings Sunday night.Visiting South (6-6, 5-3 division) took a 12-1 lead with a six-run second against Wilkes (1-14, 1-10).
Matt Ingold went 3-for-3. Daniel Wagner finished 3-for-5 with two RBIs, and Ivan Corriher had a two-run double. Brown, Corriher, Justin Lane, Ryan Bostian and Jonathon Basinger had two hits each. Chase Deal scored twice.South starter C.J. Neal scattered 10 hits over seven innings while improving to 2-1.
