SALISBURY – Ruth Morris Peninger, 87, died Sunday January 28, 2007 at Genesis Eldercare, Salisbury.

Mrs. Peninger was born Dec. 8, 1919 in Stanly County to the late Joseph Robert Morris Sr. and Aletha Waisner Morris. She was educated in the Stanly Co. schools, was a homemaker and a member of Main St. United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband William Hazel Peninger who died March 18, 1982.

Survivors are: sons D. Michael Peninger and wife Aggie of Salisbury, W. Keith Peninger and wife Connie of Salisbury, M. Daniel Peninger and wife Wanda of Shallotte, daughters Jan Stevens and husband Paul of Chapin, S.C., and Claudette Hopkins and husband Rick of Augusta, Ga.; also nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 7-8:30 pm Tuesday at Lyerly Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of son Mike.

Service: 11:00 am Wednesday, Jan 31, 2007 at Main St. United Methodist Church with the Rev. Angela Marlowe, pastor, officiating. Burial: Rowan Memorial Park, Salisbury.
