Juanita Holmes

BALTIMORE, Md. – Juanita Holmes, 63, departed this life Tuesday, January 23, 2007. Daughter of the late Edward C.A. and Geneva Brown Holmes, she was born October 16, 1943 in Salisbury.

Ms. Holmes received her education at Dunbar High School in East Spencer, and Coppin State University in Baltimore, MD.

She retired from the Mayor’s Office of Employment Development as a Career Development Facilitator after 17 years of service. She was a former member of Yadkin Grove Baptist Church, Salisbury NC and a member of Israel Baptist Church for over 20 years.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Holmes is preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Graves and a brother, Clifton Lee Holmes. She leaves to cherish her memories; daughters, Joyce “Angel” Holmes and Dana D. W. Cain; sisters, Genester Banks of Baltimore, MD, and Mamie Teasley of Salisbury, one brother, Edward R. Holmes, Salisbury, three grandchildren, Brittani Cain, Arthur “Trey” Cain, and Angelo Joseph Holmes, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services are 11:30 am, Monday, January 29, 2007 at Israel Baptist Church of Baltimore City, Baltimore, MD, Rev. Dr. H. Walden Wilson, II, Pastor, officiating. Visitation will be Monday at 11:00 at the church. There will be a Graveside service Wednesday, 10:00 am. January 31, 2007 at Yadkin Grove Baptist Church, Salisbury, Rev. Paul Rhinehart officiating.
