COOLEEMEE – Billy Wayne Taylor, 65, of Center Street, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at his residence.
Born in Iredell County on Dec. 31, 1941, Mr. Taylor was the son of the late Jessie Lee and Bertha Mae Stewart Taylor. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Muskogee, Okla., and had been employed by Frymiller Trucking.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Connie Robbins Taylor, of Oktaha, Okla.; sons Donald (Annette) Taylor and Richard Taylor of Mocksville and Kenneth (Penny) Taylor of Rockwell; daughters Carol Taylor (Mike) Bova of Statesville and Sharon Taylor Ijames of Cooleemee; stepsons Timothy Kugler of Claypool, Ind. and Jesse Kugler of the home; stepdaughters Leah Cornish of Tahlequah, Okla., Sarah Prater of Akron, Ind., Rachel Havlin of Clinton, Ill. and Deborah Tait of Warsaw, Ind.; sisters Mary Sipes of Spencer, Lucille Smith and Kathy McCulloh of Mocksville; brothers Howard Taylor of Mocksville and Johnny Taylor of Statesville; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dovie Barnheardt, and brothers Clarence Taylor and Charlie Taylor.
Service: The funeral for Mr. Taylor will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Davie Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Jim Snead officiating. Burial will be at Union Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation: Tonight from 7-9 at Davie Funeral Service.
