Baxter Lee Myers

SALISBURY – Baxter Lee Myers, 80, of Salisbury, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, at Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks after a period of declining health.

Born May 11, 1926, in Davie County, Mr. Myers was a son of the late Jane Broadway Myers and Jess Oscar Myers. A graduate of the School of the Blind in Raleigh, he ran the concession stand in the Rowan County Court House.

Mr. Myers was a member of Landmark Church and had a lifelong love for music. He could play anything with strings and wrote and produced several songs.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Laura Wilma Harward Myers, on July 25, 2005.

Surviving are brother Walter Myers and wife Willie Mae of Salisbury; sister Daisey Ridenhour of Davie County; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Service: 3 p.m. Friday at Lyerly Funeral Home’s James C. Lyerly Chapel with the Rev. Benny Hillard of Landmark Church and the Rev. Franklin Myers of First Baptist Church in Spencer officiating. Burial will be at City Memorial Park.

Visitation: 6-8 tonight at Lyerly Funeral Home.
