Thomas F. Davis

Thomas Floyd Davis, 89, 315 W. 13th St., died Jan. 3, 2007, at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.

Born Feb. 12, 1917, in Randolph County, Mr. Davis was a son of the late Thomas Floyd and Flora Davis.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired in 1982 after 40 years with Cannon Mills.

He was a member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church.

His wife, Mary Ida Davis, died in 2001.

Survivors include daughters Linda Honeycutt, Kannapolis, Sherry Fink, Wyoming, and Faye Blackwelder and Janice Lazenby, both of China Grove; sons Doug Ross, Concord, and Wayne Ross, Kannapolis; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A service was held Saturday (Jan. 6, 2006) at Whitley’s Funeral Home. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park, with military rites by the Veterans Honor Guard.
