Arthur Goodman

CHINA GROVE — Arthur Elwood Goodman, 88, 1020 N.C. 153 W., died Jan. 3, 2007, at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord.

Born Feb. 4, 1918, in Cleveland, N.C., Mr. Goodman was a son of the late Jay Elwood and Maude Davis Goodman.

A graduate of Boyden High School, he retired in 1983 from Cannon Mills, where he was a foreman in the weave room.

He was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church and Allen Graham Masonic Lodge and a Boy Scout leader for Bethany Lutheran Church for many years.

Daughter Judy G. Lee died in 2003.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Addie Mae Bradshaw Goodman; daughter Frances G. Turner, Concord; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A service was held Saturday (Jan. 7, 2007) at New Hope Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Doug Kearney. Entombment, West Lawn Memorial Park.

Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, Landis, was in charge.
