Concord’s boys basketball team will take on Oak Hill, the No. 1 team in the nation, on Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. at Cabarrus Arena & Events Center.

The jayvee boys teams will play at 5:30.

Concord won the Northeast Medical Center Prep Classic Tournament last week.

Oak Hill has produced stars such as Carmelo Anthony and Jerry Stackhouse.

* Catawba tennis camps

After-school clinics on Mondays and Thursdays will be held from April 23-June 7. The clinics will be held from 3:30-5 p.m. at the Catawba courts.

The dates for Catawba’s 2007 summer tennis camps have been set.

* June 11-14 — full day

* June 25-28 — full day

* July 9-12 — half day

* July 23-26 — half day

* July 30-Aug. 2 — half day

* Baseball camp

Catawba is offering an All-Skills Baseball Showcase Camp on Jan. 13 and 14 at Newman Park.

The two-day clinic allows high school prospects to showcase their talents and skills while receiving personal instruction from college coaches and professional scouts. The clinic is limited to ensure personal attention and instruction for each prospect. Contact the Catawba baseball office at 704-637-4250.

* Turkey shoots

Turkey shoots will be held on Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Faith Jaycee Ballpark.

Cost is $3 a shot .

Prizes to choose from are five pounds of sausage, a slab of side meat or a canned ham.

Country Ham already sliced and wrapped will also be shot for $5 a shot. Shots will be taken from 75 feet with all guns allowed with factory barrels and chokes.

* Catawba softball

Catawba’s softball program will hold a Spring Training Day fundraiser on Jan. 15, Martin Luther King Day, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Activities will focus on speed development, strength, ball skills, first-step quickness and agility and will take place in the lower level of Goodman Gym.

Early registration is $40. Cost is $45 the day of the camp. Bring lunch. Drinks are provided.
