Edna Mae Cook King

SALISBURY – Edna Mae Cook King, 93, formerly of Landis, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, at Liberty Commons Nursing Center.

Born Feb. 13, 1913, in Iredell County, Mrs. King was the daughter of the late Charles Linden and Julia Mills Cook. Educated in Iredell County schools, Mrs. King was employed at Linn-Mills for 25 years before retiring due to ill health.

She was a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Sunday School and active in all phases of church work as long as her health permitted.

Survivors include daughters Tommie Carol Dunn of Asheville and Sandra Lynn Boardman of Salisbury; brother Ross (Margaret) Cook of Cleveland; sister Ava Cook Rickard of Kannapolis; seven grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Service: 2 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Presbyterian Church in China Grove, with the Rev. Steven Moss and the Rev. Donald Wagoner officiating. Entombment will follow in West Lawn Mausoleum.

Visitation: 1-2 p.m. Friday at the church.

Memorials: Donor’s choice.
