Letter: Loss of daughter didn't have to happen

My family is a victim of losing our 8-year-old daughter by a drunken driver. Drinking is a privilege, not a right — just like having your drivers license.
Our family is not the only one that suffered from this accident; the other family suffered as well with the injuries they sustained, which also turned their world upside down.
There are too many people in this world that take their privileges too far without worrying about any accountability for their actions. The drunken driver took a precious 8-year-old girl away because he abused the privilege of drinking.
