Margaret T. Fesperman

ROCKWELL – Margaret Oree Thompson Fesperman, 75 of Rockwell, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury.

Born Oct. 10, 1931, in Rowan County, Mrs. Fesperman was the daughter of the late Joseph B. Thompson and Janie Lee Benfield Thompson. Educated in Rowan County schools and at Rowan Technical College, she was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, WELCA and the Senior Citizens of Rockwell. Mrs. Fesperman enjoyed her family and friends.

She had worked for Linn-Corriher Cotton Mills and the Lutheran Home.

Mrs. Fesperman was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Ray Hooper, in 1982; and her second husband, Carl Lee Fesperman Jr., in 1998; and stepdaughter Shelia F. Josey in 2003.

Survivors include stepdaughters Nancy F. Campbell of Statesville and Betty F. Yates of Rockwell; brothers R.B. Thompson of China Grove, Walter Thompson of Madona, Ohio, and Ellis Thompson of Williston, Fla.; sister Sybelle T. Vanderford of Salisbury; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Public Viewing: 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday at Powles Funeral Home.

Service: Funeral Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. James Lutheran Church conducted by the Rev. Craig Sigmon, pastor. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park, Salisbury.
