Have you ever wanted to spend a morning on a working farm doing some of the same things that farmers do?

The Pumpkin Dash Adventure Run is set for Saturday morning, November 8th.  The Pumpkin Dash is billed as an adventure run, complete with obstacles that challenge the runner throughout the 5K course.

Start time for the individual’s race will be 9 a.m., with the teams starting at 10 a.m. All members of each team must finish together.

Sponsors for the Pumpkin Dash are Patterson Farm, Novant Health, Miller Davis, the Salisbury Rowan Runners, Carolina Farm Credit, LL Goodnight &Sons, and James River Equipment. All proceeds will go to the Rowan County United Way.

Team competition is a highlight of the Adventure Run.  Teams can enter as two persons and four persons, in male, female and co-ed.

There are also individual overall and top three awards in seven age groups for both men and women. Awards this year are commemorative ceramic pumpkins made by Patti Safrit.

A special Little Farm Hands fun run for kids, 12 and under, will be held at 11 a.m., followed by the awards ceremony at 11:30. All Patterson Farms activities will be free to the runners who participate in any of the races. All participants will also get a long sleeve, DRI-fit shirt and refreshments.

Online registration continues this week at www.sportoften.com and a printable brochure is available at www.salisburyrowanrunners.org.
