Police cite man with marijuana possession

A man whom police charged earlier this year with breaking into the same business numerous times was again met with police and this time was cited for marijuana possession.
Salisbury Police went to an apartment in the 700 block of Lincolnton Road where they’d gotten complaints about drug activity in the past. Officers saw a couple of cars pull in and out of the property. When police arrived they spotted Alvis James Graves, 56, sitting on the front porch. The officer asked Graves who owned a truck parked in the driveway. Graves at first said the truck belonged to him then he said it did not.
Graves got up from the chair he was sitting in to go into the apartment and when he did the officer spotted a chunk of marijuana under the seat. The officer asked Graves if the marijuana belonged to him, which he eventually admitted. Police seized three grams of marijuana. Graves was cited for simple possession of marijuana.
In January, Graves was charged along with an East Spencer man, with breaking into Dan’s Trading Company on four different occasions.
