SALISBURY — The Novant Health Breast Center mobile mammography unit will be on site Friday night at Relay for Life.
Women who want to use the mobile unit during the event at the Rowan County Fairgrounds can reserve a time slot in advance by calling 704-210-5924 or emailing rfpuckett@novanthealth.org.
The unit will be available from 4:30 to 7 p.m. and features state-of-the-art digital mammography, a team of female technologists and the privacy of a traditional imaging center.
Mammograms are covered as a preventive screening under most insurance plans. As a convenience, Novant will file a claim with the patient’s insurance provider.
Women still can use the mobile unit at Relay for Life if a previous mammogram was not at a Novant facility.
