Ramp from Poplar Tent to 85 North to close Thursday night

The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close the entrance ramp from Poplar Tent Road to I-85 North in Concord from 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, until 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, weather permitting, as part of the department’s $125.2 million I-85 widening project from south of Bruton Smith Boulevard (Exit 49) to north of N.C. 73 (Exit 55).
Crews will also temporarily close the right lane on I-85 North approaching Poplar Tent Road (Exit 52) to safely align the new entrance ramp to the interstate.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
