Teens charged with multiple felonies, larcenies

Two local teenagers have been charged with multiple felony counts for allegedly conducting a string of break-ins, many of them near their homes.

Dalton Roysdon, 18, and Jacob Scott Pilkington, 18, were arrested Saturday.


They remained in the Rowan County Detention Center under $50,000 bond Sunday night.

Pilkington is charged with 11 counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle and committing misdemeanor larceny; two counts of felony larceny after breaking and entering; one count of felony breaking and entering; and two counts of conspiracy to commit larceny after breaking and entering.

Pilkington is also charged with unlawfully obtaining a credit card, and possession of burglary tools.

Roysdon was charged Saturday with seven counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle; six counts of misdemeanor larceny; and two counts of conspiracy to commit larceny after breaking and entering.

Roysdon was also charged with a single count of felony larceny, and with unlawfully obtaining a credit card.

Sunday evening, Roysdon appeared again before the magistrate and was charged with four counts of felony larceny after breaking and entering; two further accounts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle and misdemeanor larceny; a single charge of attempted breaking and entering; and possession of burglary tools.

According to arrest reports, the items allegedly stolen from businesses and vehicles are valued at over $3,600 – at least $885 of it in cash.

Sunglasses, electronics, ammunition, medication and several credit and debit cards were among the items stolen, according to law enforcement reports.

Vehicles and buildings Roysdon and Pilkington allegedly robbed were located on Neel Road, Sherrills Ford Road and Mooresville Road.

The suspects’ home addresses are less than a mile apart, and many of the alleged robberies took place within a three-mile radius.

Roysdon and Pilkington are scheduled to appear in District Court on Tuesday.
