Salisbury Police nab man who fled from traffic stop

SALISBURY — Salisbury Police charged Quandarius Rasheim Davis, 20, of the 300 block of West Street with fleeing to elude arrest Friday after leading officers on a short chase following an attempted traffic stop Friday.

Davis also was charged with resisting, delaying and obstructing an officer and failure to appear in court on other charges. His bond was set at $18,500.

The chase hit West Innes, Willow, Old West Innes, Institute, Lloyd and West Fisher streets.

In other reports;

• East Spencer Police charged Charles Edward Cherry, 57, of Henderson Street, East Spencer, with assault on a female. A woman complained that Cherry brandished a machete in a threat to her. Bond was set at $1,000.

• Kannapolis Police charged Michael Z. McDuffie, 27, of Hutton Avenue with resisting a public officer by giving a false name to police, who were investigating a complaint related to noise and underage drinking.

• Authorities charged Brandon Tyler Cochrane, 22, with possession of a controlled substance, possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and distribute a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Friday.

Bond was set at $5,000.

• The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office served a warrant from Iredell County on Michael Patrick O’Brien, 44, of Statesville linked to a Dec. 9, 2014, charge of trafficking in heroin and opium. O’Brien was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under $200,000 bond.

• Spencer Police charged Trayvone Holmes Adantae, 18, of South Rowan Avenue with possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and distribute marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia Friday.

Bond was set at $1,500.

•  Authorities charged Tyree E. Badger, 22, with possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and distribute a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting and delaying an officer and second-degree trespass Saturday.

Bond was set at $7,500.

• A man in the 2500 block of Potneck Road reported the theft Friday morning of tools and tool boxes worth $1,400 from his home, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

• The Sheriff’s Office investigated a forced entry into a home in the 500 block of Brown Road near China Grove. There was $35 damage to a window screen.
