It is time for all of us Americans to take inventory of our deeds for the past few years.
Are we living our lives being responsible for all our actions in life? Are we thinking of what our founding fathers did in organizing this great nation? They made great sacrifices, pledging their lives while knowing they could be hanged for the struggle to be free from the chains of the tyrant King George III. It seems to me from events of our lives these last few years that we have forgotten a great deal of our history. Perhaps that’s because history is distorted as it is taught in our schools today. We should teach more civics, history and geography in schools today. Many graduates cannot relate to the borders of Mexico and Canada.
We are not living up to the standards set by our wonderful Constitution, the great document that should direct our lives. Today we lack responsibility for our personal actions. For example, we expect our government (which is the people) to take care of all of us from cradle to grave. This is wrong because we should be responsible for our own destiny and be honest in accepting favors from the people (the government), such as Social Security, Medicaid and other gifts from the people (the government).
Why doesn’t Congress serve the people and be dedicated to their oath to the great Constitution of our country. I think members of Congress have failed to serve the citizens of our country and are a disaster. The president has failed to lead. The Federal Reserve should be removed from our government because it is not doing its job. The courts are disregarding the Constitution, including that the institution of marriage is between a man and a woman.
How many people are drawing compensation from Social Security who are proven alcoholics and drug addicts? Some are lifetime recipients of the funds. I know several able-bodied people who live on the “dole,” which is wrong. We must be responsible for our own way of life. The people (the government) cannot afford to take care of people from cradle to grave.
Why are we the policemen of the world? We cannot afford this any longer; to think that we have troops in more than 100 countries. Observe the circumstances of the many Middle Eastern countries that are revolting against the ruling parties.
We have lost our faith in God. War is wrong, and we continue to spend $2.5 billion per week waging war. We attack others when we should be defending our country. It is time to examine our own municipal and state governments. These bodies have failed to serve the people to the full extent of their ability. We do not need five county commissioners. We do not need so many members in the General Assembly. Our government is too large. Our municipal government should not be engaged in private enterprise. The new fiber-optic system should be sold to a private company. The law that allows motor scooters to be used by people without a driver’s license or insurance is wrong. We need to clean our house and start over. We have enough good people in North Carolina who can turn things around. It is time to forget about raising taxes, too. Citizens of North Carolina, take action and vote the incumbents out and start a new way of life in North Carolina and the greatest nation on Earth.
Our Congress wants to go along the easy path and raise taxes. Congress needs to eliminate foreign aid and wars. We need to enforce our own borders. We need to enforce our own laws. We need to cut the defense budget and get out of the Middle East wars. This must be done to really cut our national debt (the people’s debt).
Fellow citizens, speak out and get involved in local and national political affairs.
