The Stanly County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help from the public in the unsolved murder of Jason Whitney Burleson, which happened May 12, 2013.
Burleson was found in the basement of his home on Groves Avenue in Stanly County. He had been bound, restrained to a chair and shot in the abdomen.
Stanly County Crimestoppers recently increased the reward amount to $2,500 for information in the case. And after the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office enlisted assistance from the North Carolina Governor’s Reward Program, Gov. Pat McCrory issued a proclamation offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information
With reward totals now up to $7,500, the Sheriff’s Office is hopeful more information will come in to solve the case, ease the concerns of the community and provide closure to the victim’s family.
