The Starry Night Chapter of the Salisbury-Rowan Quilters’ Guild recently presented 16 Quilts of Valor to area veterans.
The mission of Quilts of Valor Foundation (www.qovf.org) is to cover all combat service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.
Starry Night members made a quilt especially for a member of the Honor Guard. These men are still serving their country and community.
A presentation of eight quilts will be awarded again in November. As a continuing service project for the chapter, eight quilts will be awarded every May and November.
If you would like to nominate a veteran to receive a quilt, send their name, address, branch of service, years served and any other military info to: Starry Night Chapter, c/o the Rufty-Holmes Senior Center, 1120 S. Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave., Salisbury, NC 28144.
