‘Hoops for Hunger’ comes to annual Sam Moir tournament

A holiday basketball tradition is giving an assist to help feed Rowans hungry.
Organizers of the Sam Moir Christmas Classic tournament is teaming with Rowan Helping Ministries for a food drive theyre calling Hoops for Hunger.
They encourage everyone who attends the Dec. 26-28 tournament to bring canned food items to help Rowan Countys less fortunate residents. Each Rowan-Salisbury School System high school will have decorated food bin at the tournament. The school that collects the most will have bragging rights.
The tournament will be played in Goodman Gym on the Catawba College campus. Games are slated to start at noon each day, with six contests each day.
