The first full week of January is starting out cold, with a low of 27 degrees.

Today will be sunny and 55, with west northwest wind at 3-5 mph. It is a Code Yellow air quality day, with particle pollution on the rise.

Tonight will have increasing clouds and a low of 32. Winds will calm.

Tuesday has a 60 percent chance of rain, mainly before 1 p.m. It will start out cloudy, then gradually become mostly sunny, with a high of 49. Winds will be southeast at 5-10 mph, then shift to the west. A tenth to quarter inch of rain is possible.

Tuesday night will be clear and 28, with west wind at 3-7 mph.

Wednesday will be sunny and 53, with west wind at 5-9 mph. The low will be a cold 27, with clear skies.

Thursday will be mostly sunny and 53. Clouds move in Thursday night, with a 30 percent chance of rain after midnight. The low will be 40.

Friday will have a 60 percent chance of showers, mainly after 3 p.m. It will be cloudy and warmer, with a high of 61. The chance of rain goes up to 80 percent Friday night. The low will be 53.

Saturday, too, will have an 80 percent chance of showers, with a high of 68. The chance of showers Saturday night will be 70 percent, with mostly cloudy skies and a low of 50.

Sunday will be mostly sunny and 65, with a 50 percent chance of showers.
