SALISBURY — A man robbed the F&M Bank on Jake Alexander Boulevard on Friday afternoon, according to the Salisbury Police Department.

Lt. Greg Beam said the man entered the bank about 5:45 p.m. He approached a teller and handed over a note.

Beam said he could not release the contents of the note and the amount stolen Friday evening.

The robber was a white man, about 5 feet, 7 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches tall. He weighed about 175 pounds and was 20 to 25 years old, a police report said. He was wearing blue pants and a black shirt, Beam said.

The robber left on foot, and officers pursued him but were unable to find him.
