Maintenance crews will close Fish Pond Road on Monday through April 11, a change in plans for the N.C. Department of Transportation.

 The work may be extended through April 12, depending on the weather and other circumstances.

Crews will replace a storm drain culvert that crosses under the road. The structure has failed, and storm runoff water is not passing under the roadway correctly.

The location is between Brown Acres Road and Deerfield Drive. The GPS coordinates for the pipe is N 35.6134, W 80.4185. The nearest address is 4935 Fish Pond Road.

The road will be closed starting at 7:30 a.m. Monday. Broken pavement may remain for a few days after the work is complete.
