SALISBURY – Thieves got away with only change and a cash register after they broke into Los Arcos Mexican restaurant early Monday morning.

The restaurant, at 1311 Klumac Road, was broken into about 3 a.m. Monday, according to the Salisbury Police Department.

Someone broke a glass front door. The restaurant valued the register at $1,300, and there was only change inside it.

The Kannapolis Police Department is investigating break-ins at two businesses, Pizza Hut and MadVapes. Other restaurants and businesses in Charlotte and Concord have reported similar break-ins, authorities said.

Salisbury police say the suspect in the Los Arcos break-in wore black sweatpants, red shorts, a black hooded sweatshirt and black Adidas shoes. He was seen leaving in a dark-colored vehicle.
