Holshouser 50th Anniversary

Linda Owen Holshouser and Derby Gene Holshouser of Salisbury celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Jan. 4, 2019. They were married on Jan. 4, 1969 at Coburn Memorial Methodist Church in Salisbury. The Rev. W. E. Fitzgerald presided and Katherine Kepley performed as a soloist at the ceremony.

Early in his career, Derby was employed by Gene Stoner Grading and Hauling for 10 years. He has been a driver for Food Lion for 37 years. Linda retired in 2018 from the medical field where she began her career as a respiratory therapist and in recent years where she served as a phlebotomist.

They celebrated their anniversary with a trip to the mountains of North Carolina.

Their family includes one son, David Holshouser; daughter-in-law, Kim Brown Holshouser; and two grandsons, Noah and Lane Holshouser of Salisbury. They also have two Westie dogs, Tucker and Darcy.
