Letter: Our voice in Congress

Published 8:09 pm Wednesday, October 31, 2018

I urge everyone to vote for my friend, Richard Hudson, for Congress this year. We all know Richard; he grew up in this area and has been a part of our community for many years.

He has been a constant presence and has worked tirelessly to help many of us and our loved ones when we have an issue with the federal government. He supports small business and has worked hard for tax cuts that have helped those businesses improve.

He has been our voice in Congress to help guide policies that make our lives better — not just locally, but across the state and country. Our economy is booming — unemployment is at the lowest it’s been in decades, and job openings are at a record high.

The tax cuts he helped pass gave 90 percent of Americans more money in our paychecks by lowering tax rates and doubling the standard deduction. Overall, more than 4 million jobs have been created in the past two years and our economy is showing no signs of slowing down.

Richard Hudson has said he wants to make the tax cuts to individuals permanent while his opponent has said the first thing he’ll do is raise our taxes. Richard Hudson deserves another term. I urge you to please vote on Nov. 6.
