MIAMI ó The name of the Miami Dolphins’ home will be LandShark Stadium, but not for long.
It will be for this season only and expires before the stadium hosts the Super Bowl in February.
The change is part of the Dolphins’ new partnership with singer Jimmy Buffett. He performed a private concert at the stadium Friday, including new Dolphins lyrics he wrote to the melody of his popular tune “Fins.”
Buffett and new team owner Stephen Ross unveiled a logo for LandShark Stadium. Buffett’s Margaritaville enterprise includes LandShark Lager, brewed by Anheuser-Busch.
Ross said the partnership with Buffett will extend beyond this season.
