Dads and kids, bring Mom downtown from 5-9 p.m. this Friday, and celebrate Mother’s Day a little early, at Downtown Salisbury Inc.’s annual Spring Night Out.
Spring Night Out offers an eclectic mix of music and other entertainment, art and trolley rides, and fun of all kinds for Mom and the entire family.
Stroll the sidewalks of Downtown and enjoy live jazz on Fisher Street by the Marc Hoffman Trio. This sophisticated, fun ensemble specializes in variety including ballads, jazz and pop covering 80 years of music.
Other music downtown includes Voices of Praise at Bible Book Store, Divided by Four at The Blue Vine, Marty Maney & Friends at Okey Dokey & Co., the Big Band All-Stars at the Trolley Barn and one-man band David Lamanno at Looking Glass Artist Collective.
Check out the Classic Cars in the Farmers Market lot. Or take Mom on a special carriage ride around downtown in honor of Mother’s Day. Or load the entire family on the Trolley for a free spin around town. Or pick up a Salisbury Sculpture Show brochure and see if you can find all 14 sculptures located around the heart of Salisbury.
Children will also find plenty to keep them busy. There are moonbounces, face painting, Wacky Doo the Clown, and the Salisbury Symphony’s instrument petting zoo. Plus, this is the perfect opportunity to find that special gift for Mom as downtown shops stay open late for your convenience.
If you take the trolley over to the Rail Walk arts district on the fringe of Downtown, you’ll find refreshments and art demonstrations in progress at Rail Walk Studios and Gallery.
Next door, the LGAC Black Box Theater will be hosting an indoor arts and crafts festival. There will also be fingerpainting to keep the kids happy while Mom takes a look at what the vendors have to offer.
