Axsom 25th Anniversary

Michael James and Pamela Carroll Axsom of Charlotte celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary with a reception along with family and friends at the South China Grove United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 2, 2009. The Axsoms were married Feb. 14, 1984, at Minot Air Force Base, N.D.
Michael retired from the United States Air Force in 1994 following 24 years of service and is currently a Juvenile Court Counselor for the State of North Carolina. Pamela is an Adult Probation/ Parole Officer for the State of North Carolina.
The coupleís sons and daughters-in-law are Matthew and Robbi Axsom of Charlotte and Jonathan and Crystal Axsom of Newbury Park, Calif.

Brady – Grose

Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Newman III and Mr. Burl H. Brady, all of Salisbury, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Travis Elizabeth Brady of Tiburon, Calif., to David Spencer Grose of San Francisco, Calif.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Charles E. Brady and the late Mr. Brady of Osprey, Fla., formerly of Salisbury, and the late Mr. and Mrs. L. Charles Gooch of Salisbury. A 1989 graduate of St. Maryís School in Raleigh and 1993 graduate of Denison University in Granville, Ohio, Travis was a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Yemen from 1993-94. She is self-employed in marketing and branding.
The future groom is the son of Ms. Patricia M. Grose and Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Grose, all of Baltimore, Md., and the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. William E. Grose of Baltimore and the late Dr. and Mrs. Joseph E. MacManus of Buffalo, N.Y. A 1986 graduate of Gilman School in Baltimore and 1990 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, David participated on two ACC championship Lacrosse teams at UNC. He is a senior loan consultant at RPM Mortgage in Marin, Calif.
The couple plan a November wedding in Florida.

Frederick 25th Anniversary

George Thomas Frederick and Donna Beaver Frederick of Salisbury celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary April 28, 2009. They were married April 28, 1984, at St. Lukeís Lutheran Church in Mount Ulla. George is a teacher at South Rowan High School, and Donna is also employed by Rowan-Salisbury School System.
The Fredericksí children are Brittany, Leah, Kristen and Drew Frederick, all of Salisbury.
The couple celebrated the event with a trip to the North Carolina mountains.

Watson – Ruehlman

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Watson of Salisbury are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Carrie Gemayel Watson, to Michael George Ruehlman of Houston, Texas.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Janice and Earl Clark of Salisbury and the late Linda and Dick Watson of Woodleaf. A 1996 graduate of Salisbury High School, Carrie graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2000 and earned her Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University. She is a freelance writer.
The future groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Ruehlman of Houston and the grandson of George and Patricia Paulsen and the late Roy and Margaret Ruehlman, all of Elkhorn, Wisc. A 1998 graduate of Klein High School, Michael graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2002, going on to receive his Master of Accounting from UT-Austin. He is vice president of Pan-Asia-Solar, a private investment firm in New York City.
The couple will be wed June 20 in Chapel Hill.

Webb – Menees

Mary Katherine Webb and Cory Stuart Menees were married May 2, 2009, at five oíclock in the afternoon at First United Methodist Church in Salisbury. The Rev. Stephen Haines officiated. A reception followed the ceremony at the Webb Family Farm.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. The matron of honor was the brideís sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Webb Snow of Salisbury. Bridesmaids included sisters-in-law of the bride Mrs. Scotti Thomas Webb and Mrs. Jamie Hardison Webb, both of Salisbury; niece of the bride Miss Mimi Scott Webb of Salisbury; Miss Shaila Camile Toro of Richmond, Va.; Miss Anna Newsom Rankin of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Elizabeth Shafer McClelland of San Francisco, Calif.; Mrs. Ashlie Green Bucy of Charlottesville, Va.; and Mrs. Erin Kelly Hagan of Memphis, Tenn.
Mr. James Spencer Menees of Richmond, Va., served as best man for his brother. Groomsmen included brothers of the bride Dr. William Whitaker Webb III and Dr. John Cornelison Webb, both of Salisbury; brother-in-law of the bride Mr. Eddy Lee Snow, Jr. of Salisbury; Mr. Michael Ryan Bucy of Charlottesville, Va.; Dr. John Robert Geer of Greensboro; Dr. William Allen Aldridge II of Birmingham, Ala.; and Dr. Ross Ritchie Weikel and Mr. Michael James Shumaker, both of Atlanta, Ga.
Child attendants were nieces and nephews of the bride Miss Caroline Grice Snow, Miss Caylee Elizabeth Snow, Miss Rebecca Sutton Webb, Master Henry Thomas Webb and Master William Whitaker Webb IV, all of Salisbury. Greeters were Mrs. Bridget Busby Waters of Henderson and Mrs. Brooke Busby McDaniel of Raleigh. The registrar was Miss Keely Alexandra Clark of Lexington.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Whitaker Webb, Jr. of Salisbury. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. LaVerne Cornelison Webb and the late Mr. William Whitaker Webb, Sr. of Salisbury and the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard Weir Grice of Winston-Salem. A 1998 graduate of Salisbury High School, Katie received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2002. She is the practice manager at Busby & Webb Orthodontics in Salisbury.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cory Knox Menees of Raleigh. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Spencer Menees of Grand Rapids, Mich., and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Gibb Stuart of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. A 1997 graduate of Sanderson High School in Raleigh, Cory is a two-time graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, having received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2001 and a Juris Doctorate in 2007. He is an associate in the Atlanta office of the law firm Troutman Sanders.
The couple will reside in Atlanta and plan a honeymoon for the fall of 2009.

Wilson – Fogner

FAITH ó Amy Leigh Wilson of Richfield and Jacob Robert Fogner of Gold Hill were united in marriage April 18, 2009, at Faith Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Brawley officiated the 6 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at Looking Glass Artist Collective.
The bride was escorted by her father, Carlton Wilson. She was attended by sister of the groom Heather Fogner of Granite Quarry as maid of honor and her sister-in-law, Christian Wilson of Richfield, as matron of honor. Her bridesmaids included Laura Wilson of Concord, Casey Basinger of Gold Hill and Rita Ramsey of Mount Ulla. Skylar Wilson of Richfield, niece of the bride, was flower girl.
Jon Huneycutt of Charlottesville, Va., uncle of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen included brother of the bride Aaron Wilson of Richfield, Josh Stiller of Salisbury, Scott Hess of Concord and David White of Welcome. Gauge Moose of Gold Hill, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.
Serving as the miniature bridal couple were niece of the bride Destiny Wilson of Richfield and J.T. Teeter of Gold Hill.
Guest registrar was Chevonne Carmean of Charlotte, and program attendant was Chris Rivers of Charlottesville, Va.
The bride is the daughter of Carlton and Karen Wilson of Richfield and the granddaughter of Bill and Betty Wilson of Richfield and June and the late Clyde Barringer of Rockwell. A 2003 graduate of East Rowan High School and 2008 graduate of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, Amy is a paramedic for Stanly County.
The groom is the son of Lynne and the late Johnny Fogner of Granite Quarry and the grandson of Bobbie and the late Rev. James Huneycutt of Granite Quarry and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fogner of Salisbury. A 2002 graduate of East Rowan High School and 2006 graduate of RCCC, Jacob is a paramedic for Rowan County.
Following a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple are making their home in Richfield.
