Emily Eve Basinger was born Dec. 29, 2016 at Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center. She weighed 7 lbs., 8 oz., and was 20.5 inches long. She joins her parents, Kerry and Ashley Basinger,  9-year-old big sister, Kaitlyn, and 2-year-old big sister Ava, in Salisbury.

Emily is the granddaughter of Phil Black of Charlotte, Jane Black of Concord, Beryl and Kelly Simpson of Salisbury and Perry Basinger of Gold Hill and the great-granddaughter of Sylvia Bryan of Salisbury, Don Smith of Salisbury and Ruby Simpson of Salisbury.
