Letter: Glad someone cares

I was pleased to see people respond about the Michael Brown situation. I’m Michael’s sister, and I was shocked to see the punishment for involuntary manslaughter. I just don’t understand how bad something has to be to get a real punishment. Michael was my only brother, and no amount of time in jail is going to bring that back to me and my family. But they have to pay for their actions. It’s not going to matter to Michael how this turns out because he’s in heaven, singing with the angels, without a care in the world. But for myself and my family, we need to see something done. He was robbed of his life, and we need peace in our hearts. I hope more people do respond about Michael. Maybe it will catch the right person’s attention and justice can be served.
