SALISBURY — Rowan authorities have added another felony charge for a Granite Quarry woman who is accused of having her daughter to hold drugs and cash during her arrest.

Jamie Dawn Agee, 31, of the 600 block of South Salisbury Avenue, was charged Wednesday with felony employing or intentionally using a minor to commit a drug law violation. This charge comes just days after the vehicle Agee was a passenger in was stopped by authorities.

Law enforcement officers searched Agee and found she had hidden oxycodone pills on her. The drugs were located during a cavity search and found to be in a small plastic tube inside Agee’s body. When authorities spoke with Agee’s 10-year-old daughter, they discovered the child was holding onto more pills and nearly $600 in cash.

The traffic stop occurred on Monday, and the woman has been in the Rowan County jail since that time under a $100,000 secured bond. She was issued an additional $25,000 secured bond for the most recent charge.

The child remains in the custody of the Rowan County Department of Social Services. Salisbury Police are looking for the father, Richard Burlan Agee. Police said he is wanted in the armed robbery of Walgreens. The robbery occurred Oct. 12 at 705 W. Jake Alexander Blvd.

The suspect came into the store and handed a pharmacy technician a note threatening to kill people if he didn’t get what he wanted. He had a knife, police said he told the pharmacy technician.

He again threatened to kill people when the technician and a pharmacist were moving too slowly. No one was harmed. He left on foot behind the store.

He is believed to be in Madison, Ky.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Richard Burlan Agee is asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department at 704-638-5333, Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245 or salisburyrowancrimestoppers.org to provide tips.
