Wendy Talbert has completed the program at Capstone Recovery Center.
Family and friends united to celebrate her graduation on Sept. 26.
Talbert is attending Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, pursuing a degree in counseling. She will be staying on at Capstone as counseling apprentice and is already helping women whose lives have been devastated by substance abuse.
Capstone Recovery Center provides a safe environment for women whose lives have been devastated by substance abuse and have a desire for a radically new life.
Capstone receives funding from the Rowan County United Way, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Foundation, the Salisbury Community Foundation. It has also received funding from the Blanche and Julian Robertson Family Foundation and the Margaret C. Woodson Foundation, as well as many private donors from our community, according to Miriam Ramirez, executive director.
Because of those supporters, Capstone  can continue to provide free services to these women who have “slipped through the cracks of society,” Ramirez said.
