Rowan weather: We might see rain

We have some pretty decent chances for rain today and tomorrow, and it would be welcomed.

Today, look for scattered showers and thunderstorms after noon, with a 50 percent chance of rain. It will be partly sunny otherwise, with a high of 90. Winds will come from the southwest this afternoon, but just 5-8 mph.

Some of the storms could become severe, leading to heavy downpours, lots of lightning and damaging winds.

Tonight the chance of storms and rain is up to 70 percent, with a low around 68. The wind will shift to the west northwest. Up to a half an inch of rain is possible with the storms.

There’s a 50 percent chance of more showers and storms Friday, even in the morning, and it will be mostly cloudy with a high of 85, a little break from the intense sun and heat. Winds will blow from the north at 5-10 mph.

Friday night has just a 30 percent chance of showers and storms, and a low of 66.

Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high of 86 and north northwest wind around 8 mph. The low will be 67.

Mostly sunny on Sunday, too, with a high of 88 and a low of 68.

And before you know it, we’re back into a new week, with a 30 percent chance of storms Monday afternoon. It will be partly sunny and 88. Monday night also has a 30 percent chance of showers and storms, with a low of 69.

Tuesday has a 40 percent chance of showers and storms, with partly sunny skies and a high of 88. The same chance lingers into Tuesday night, with a low around 68

Wednesday will be mostly sunny and 88 again.
