The Faith Civitan Club is marking 70 years of community service. Since 1945, the club has been helping others in Faith and the surrounding area through fundraisers and local charity projects. The celebration will take place on May 28, at the Faith American Legion building/park.

Members of the club, known as Civitans, volunteer regularly to help others in the community, through a range of charity projects. Some of these programs include knitting hats and blankets for newborns, providing birthday cakes for Cabarrus Homes residence, providing goodies for Faith Elementary Teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week, and sponsoring scholarships for local students to attend college and for YMCA memberships.

Civitan International is an organization of community service clubs with roughly 40,000 members across four continents. Each club works to help others and fulfill needs in their community, with a special emphasis on helping people with developmental disabilities. Civitans also continue this mission through fundraising for the UAB Civitan International Research Center, a world-class medical facility dedicated to researching developmental disabilities and other cognitive disorders.
