The website includes tips for what to do should an outage occur.

EnergyUnited crews are on standby and ready to restore power as quickly as possible should outages occur as a result of the winter weather predicted tonight and into tomorrow, which could bring snow and ice accumulation to some of its 19-county service areas. EnergyUnited members are asked to call 1-800-EUNITED (1-800-386-4833) to report outages that may result from this storm.

Members may obtain up-to-the-minute outage information at the storm center on EnergyUnited’s website (www.energyunited.com/storm_center_outages.asp.) Major outages will also be posted on EnergyUnited’s Facebook and Twitter pages found at www.facebook.com/EnergyUnited and https://twitter.com/EnergyUnitedEMC.

EnergyUnited reminds people to stay away from downed or sparking power lines and to report the location immediately to EnergyUnited by calling our customer care center at 1-800-522-3793.

EnergyUnited offers the following tips to help members stay comfortable and safe if outages occur. Have the following supplies on hand, preferably in a central location that each member of the household can locate quickly if needed:

• Flashlights and fresh batteries
• Radio with fresh batteries for weather and news reports
• Extra blankets, sleeping bags, quilts
• Non-perishable, easy to prepare food
• Manual can opener
• Bottled water or gallon jugs filled with water for drinking and cooking
• Emergency numbers such as local emergency management, police and hospital contacts.
