Salisbury Police are looking for someone who took a woman’s purse outside Wendy’s.

The Burlington resident was visiting Concord Mills Mall and McAdenville on a bus tour Tuesday. The bus stopped at the East Innes Street restaurant around 8 p.m.

Peggy Smith Thiel told authorities she had her purse by its strap when she heard someone call out to her. She ignored the man, but he came up behind her, took her purse and ran.

Thiel’s husband was inside Wendy’s at the time of the incident.

The victim and a man who witnessed the theft chased the suspect. The chase stopped at South Clay Street.

Four other men, who were not involved in the robbery, were spotted running with the initial suspect.

The thief took several of Thiel’s credit cards, cash and other items along with her purse.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Salisbury Police at 704-638-5333.
