The Small Business Center at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College will hold free seminars in May and June for people thinking about starting a small business or currently operating their own business.
The free seminars are supported by the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce, Cabarrus Regional Chamber of Commerce and the City of Kannapolis.

Kitchen joins LSA
Kristen Kitchen, a communications professional with more than 12 years experience, is the newly appointed development associate with Lutheran Services for the Aging.
LSA is a not-for-profit health-care organization operating nursing homes, retirement communities and adult day services in North Carolina.
In her new role, Kitchen is responsible for resource development, including leading LSA’s annual employee campaign, special events and church communications and relations. She also will work with the LSA Ambassador program to enhance and maintain relationships with Lutheran churches throughout the state.
“It is an exciting time for LSA, and I am fortunate to be associated with such a caring and quality organization,” Kitchen said. “As Lutheran Services for the Aging continues to grow and expand, I look forward to working in collaboration with the Resource Development team to represent and support LSA’s ministry.”
Prior to joining LSA, she worked in health-care public relations and marketing for a regional medical center. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School Of Journalism and Mass Communication with a bachelor’s degree in public relations.
She and her husband live in China Grove, and she is a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in China Grove.
