Union Lutheran celebrates 250th anniversary with guest pastor

Union Lutheran Church announced that it will have a guest pastor, Rev. Dr. Jarrod Lanning, as the 250th anniversary guest pastor on Sunday.
Everyone is invited to join in for breakfast at 8:45 a.m. and worship at 10:30 a.m.
Lanning spent nearly all of his younger years as a member of Union Lutheran.
He is a 1992 graduate of East Rowan High School. He was awarded his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1997, his master’s degree of divinity from Lutheran Southern Seminary in 2003, and his doctorate of ministry from Hood Theological Seminary in 2012. Lanning served as pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Landis, from 2003 until 2021.
He currently serves as pastor at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Salisbury. Lanning married his wife Ashley in 1998. She is a graduate of East Carolina University and currently serves as a mathematics teacher at Mooresville High School. They have two sons: Andrew, a rising senior at North Carolina State University, and Micah, a rising senior at Mooresville High School.
