High schools girls track and field: North’s Brown and Ellis, Salisbury’s Ward get top CCC honors

North Rowan athlete Aniya Brown was voted MVP of the Central Carolina Conference Track Meet.

Brown won the long jump, triple jump and 100 hurdles and was second in the 300 hurdles.

North thrower Brittany Ellis was named Field MVP. She won the shot put and discus.

Salisbury’s Tai’Lah Ward was named Sprint MVP. She won the 100, 200 and 300 hurdles and ran a leg on the 4×200 winner.

East Davidson’s Fatima Cepeda was named Distance MVP.

West Davidson’s Kenneth Elmore was named CCC Coach of the Year for girls track. North’s Phillip Bush was runner-up.

North Rowan’s Brown, Ellis, Allanah McArthur, Bailee Goodlett, Keynai Ambers and Kimora Chawlk made all-conference.

Salisbury’s Ward, Dashia Canada, Jordan Henderson, Kendall Henderson, Millie Wymbs, Mya Noble and Shekiya Woodruff made all-conference.
